Whisky Highland Park - Orkney's proud whisky tradition

On the windswept Orkney Islands, north of the Scottish mainland, one of the most versatile single malts in the world matures: Highland Park. Whisky has been produced here since 1798 - longer than anywhere else in Scotland. The distillery combines the best of two worlds: the rugged soul of the islands with an amazing balance of flavours.

Highland Park is known for its harmonious combination of delicate peat smoke, honeyed malt flavours and a fresh spiciness. This unique character is created by the use of Orkney peat, which, unlike Islay peat, contains more heather and floral flavours, while traditional floor malting, in which the barley is turned by hand, gives the whisky additional depth.

Bottlings such as the "Highland Park 12 year old" with its notes of orange marmalade, vanilla and light smoke are considered perfect entry-level whiskies. The "Highland Park 18 year old", on the other hand, impresses with more complex flavours of dark chocolate, dried fruit and a hint of spice. Even the limited "Viking" editions, inspired by the Nordic history of Orkney, show the range of this distillery.

Highland Park is more than just a whisky - it is a piece of Scottish cultural history. Each bottle reflects the pride and craftsmanship of a distillery that has never conformed to the mainstream. This is whisky that tells stories: of stormy winds, ancient traditions and the unmistakable spirit of the Orkneys.
