Château Palmer - The poetry of the Margaux terroir

At the heart of the Margaux appellation, Château Palmer has been writing one of Bordeaux's most fascinating success stories since 1814. Although officially classified as a Troisième Cru Classé, it regularly surpasses this classification and is now on a par with the Premier Crus in terms of quality. Its secret lies in its unique terroir: The deep gravel soils, enriched with glacial deposits, give the wines their unrivalled mineral elegance.

Palmer revolutionised the Bordeaux style with his unusual blend of grapes (47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot), which produces wines of rare complexity. The Grands Vins fascinate with their opulent bouquet - blackcurrants, violet plum jam and a smoky spiciness, carried by silky, almost floating tannins.

The estate has been setting standards in sustainable viticulture for years: the conversion to biodynamics began in 2008 and a visionary organic cellar was created in 2015. The experimental 2014 vintage ("Palmer Blanc"), which produced a pure white wine for the first time in 150 years, achieved particular fame.
