Château Le Pin - Pomerol's precious treasure
The tiny Château Le Pin in Pomerol is considered one of the most exclusive addresses in the wine world. With only around two hectares of vines, it produces some of the most sought-after and expensive wines in Bordeaux. The history of the estate began in the 1970s, when the Thienpont family recognised the potential of the exceptional plot and developed the wine in a revolutionary modern way.
Le Pin embodies the purest form of Merlot - opulent, silky and with a beguiling variety of flavours. Ripe cherries, truffles and exotic spices combine to create an incomparably dense yet elegant style. Extremely low yields and gentle vinification produce wines of almost legendary finesse year after year.
Unlike the great châteaux of the Médoc, Le Pin does not have a grand château - the only thing that counts here is the wine. With barely 6000 bottles per vintage, Le Pin is a rare collector's item that regularly fetches record prices.
