Château Duhart-Milon Rothschild - A top wine from Pauillac

Château Duhart-Milon Rothschild is a renowned wine estate in the Bordeaux appellation of Pauillac and has held the rank of Quatrième Cru Classé since 1855. It is part of the Rothschild family wine empire, which also owns the famous Château Lafite. Its name is derived from the former owner, Mr Duhart, and the hamlet of Milon.

The estate has 76 hectares of vineyards, which are predominantly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (approx. 67%) and Merlot (33%). The sandy, gravelly soils give the wines their characteristic structure and finesse. Since the Rothschilds took over the estate in 1962, it has been modernised without neglecting traditional craftsmanship.

The wines of Duhart-Milon are characterised by their powerful elegance, with aromas of black fruit, tobacco and cedar wood. They are considered more accessible than some other Pauillac crus, yet remain long-lasting and complex. The 1982, 1990, 2005 and 2015 vintages in particular are highly praised by critics.

The estate works closely with Château Lafite-Rothschild, but uses its own cellars and team to preserve the unique character of Duhart-Milon. With its balance of power and finesse, this wine is an excellent representative of the Pauillac terroir - a must for every Bordeaux lover.
