Château Ducru-Beaucaillou - A jewel of Bordeaux

Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is one of the most renowned wine estates in the Médoc and ranks among the top class of Bordeaux. It is located in the Saint-Julien appellation and has held Deuxième Cru Classé status since 1855. Its name is derived from the "beautiful pebbles"(beaux cailloux) that characterise the barren soil and give the wines their special minerality.

The estate was built in the 18th century, but became famous under the management of the Johnston family in the 19th century. Today it is run by the Borie family, who have been committed to a consistent quality policy since the 1940s. The vineyards cover 75 hectares and are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (approx. 70%) and Merlot (30%).

The wines from Ducru-Beaucaillou are characterised by their elegance, complexity and longevity. Aromas of blackcurrant, cedar wood and fine spices characterise the style. The 2009, 2010, 2015 and 2016 vintages in particular are considered outstanding.

Not only the wine is impressive, but also the neoclassical château overlooking the Gironde, symbolising the combination of tradition and modernity that makes this winery so unique. Ducru-Beaucaillou stands for the perfect harmony between terroir and human craftsmanship - a true Bordeaux classic.
