Château d'Angludet - A hidden gem in the Médoc
Located in the heart of the renowned Margaux appellation, Château d'Angludet is one of the oldest wine estates in the Médoc. Its history dates back to the 12th century, but viticulture has only been practised here since the 18th century. Although the estate is not classified as a cru classé château today, it is highly regarded by connoisseurs for its exceptional quality.
The 32-hectare vineyard has been run by the Sichel family since 1961, who combine traditional and modern methods with great care. The vineyards are planted with typical Bordeaux varieties: predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The gravel and clay soil gives the wines their elegant structure and mineral finesse.
Château d'Angludet impresses with its harmonious balance between fruit and tannins. Aromas of dark berries, cedar wood and a subtle spiciness characterise the wine, which is characterised by its good ageing potential. Compared to its more famous neighbours, it often offers excellent value for money.
A real insider tip, Château d'Angludet embodies the typical elegance of a Margaux - powerful, yet always with subtle restraint. A wine that captures the soul of the Médoc and shows that true greatness does not always need an official classification.
