Château Calon-Ségur - The heart of Saint-Estèphe

With its iconic heart-shaped label, Château Calon-Ségur, one of the oldest wine estates in the Médoc, bears the romantic legend of its former owner, the Marquis de Ségur, who declared in the 18th century: "I make wine in Lafite and Latour, but my heart belongs to Calon." As the third Grand Cru Classé of the 1855 Bordeaux classification, it stands for wines from Saint-Estèphe with strong character and longevity.

The estate cultivates 55 hectares of vineyards on clayey, gravelly soils, planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (53%), Merlot (38%), Cabernet Franc (7%) and Petit Verdot(2%). The wines impress with their powerful structure, paired with velvety tannins and flavours of black cherries, cedar wood and a smoky minerality.

Under the direction of Laurent Dufau, Calon-Ségur relies on precise site selection and a mixture of traditional and modern vinification. In addition to the Grand Vin, the second wine "Marquis de Calon" is produced, which is more accessible.

Known for its vintage consistency, Calon-Ségur shows its great potential particularly in strong vintages such as 2016, 2018 or 2020. A wine with character that embodies the typical power and finesse of Saint-Estèphe.
