Château Branaire-Ducru - finesse and harmony in Saint-Julien

Château Branaire-Ducru is a renowned wine estate in the Saint-Julien appellation in the Médoc and is one of the Fourth Grands Crus Classés of the Bordeaux Classification of 1855. With a long history dating back to the 17th century, it stands for elegant, balanced wines that are typical of the high-quality crus of this region.

The estate has 60 hectares of vineyards, most of which are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), Merlot (26%), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Petit Verdot(4%). The location near the banks of the Gironde favours a temperate microclimate, which gives the grapes optimum ripeness. The wines from Branaire-Ducru are characterised by their fine structure, aromatic depth and harmonious balance, with aromas of dark berries, tobacco, violets and a subtle spiciness.

Under the management of Patrick Maroteaux (until 2017) and now under the technical direction of Jean-Dominique Videau, the château favours precise site selection and gentle vinification in order to preserve the terroir characteristics. In addition to the Grand Vin, the second wine "Château Duluc" is also produced, which is more accessible and ready to drink earlier.

Branaire-Ducru enjoys a high international reputation and is regularly awarded high Parker points. His wines combine classic stylistic confidence with modern finesse - a true representative of the noble Saint-Julien character.
