Château Branaire-Ducru - The perfect balance in Saint-Julien

Château Branaire-Ducru, the fourth Grand Cru Classé in the legendary Bordeaux classification of 1855, is one of the most reliable and elegant wine estates in the Saint-Julien appellation. Since the 17th century, it has characterised the reputation of the Médoc with its wines full of character.

On 60 hectares, mainly Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), Merlot (26%), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Petit Verdot(4%) grow here on the typical gravel terraces of the Médoc. The proximity to the Gironde ensures a balanced microclimate, which gives the wines their distinctive finesse and longevity. They are characterised by silky tannins and aromas of blackcurrant, cedar wood and a subtle hint of mint.

Under the management of Patrick Maroteaux (until 2017) and today under the technical responsibility of Jean-Dominique Videau, the estate favours precise site selection and careful vinification. The wines are aged 60-70% in new barriques, combining their classic structure with modern accessibility.

In addition to the Grand Vin, the second wine "Duluc de Branaire-Ducru" is produced, which is ready to drink earlier. Special vintages such as 2016, 2018 and 2020show the enormous potential of this château. Branaire-Ducru embodies the ideal balance between power and elegance - a true ambassador of the Saint-Julien style.
