Château Badon - A hidden gem in Saint-Émilion
In the heart of the famous Saint-Émilion wine region lies Château Badon, a family-run wine estate that has been producing wines of strong character for generations. Although it is not one of the best-known estates in the appellation, it impresses with its authentic and terroir-influenced wines, which are typical of the right bank of the Bordeaux region.
The estate has 14 hectares of vineyards, on which Merlot (70%) and Cabernet Franc (30%) are mainly cultivated. These grape varieties thrive on the calcareous clay soil of Saint-Émilion and give the wines their special finesse and mineral flavour. Château Badon relies on traditional winemaking methods, including gentle fermentation in stainless steel tanks and a maturation phase in French oak barrels.
The wines from Château Badon are characterised by their deep fruit aromas, silky tannins and long-lasting structure. They represent the typical style of Saint-Émilion - powerful, yet elegant and multi-layered. Although the estate is not classified as a Grand Cru Classé, it offers excellent value for money and is one of the region's insider tips.
In addition to the wine production, the estate impresses with its charming château and picturesque vineyards. The family attaches great importance to sustainability and cultivates the vines with respect for nature.
Château Badon stands for quality craftsmanship and passion - a winery that shows that you can also find exceptional wines in Saint-Émilion away from the big names.
