Cameronbridge - The king of grain whiskies

Cameronbridge is not only one of the oldest, but also one of the most important distilleries in Scotland. Founded in 1824, it was the first distillery to use continuous distillation on a large scale - a revolutionary technique that laid the foundations for modern grain whisky production. Today, Cameronbridge is part of Diageo and plays a central role in many well-known blended whiskies such as Johnnie Walker.

Unlike single malts, grain whisky is made from wheat or corn, which gives Cameronbridge a particularly mild and sweet character. The light flavour with notes of vanilla, caramel and fresh grain makes it the perfect component of blends, giving them volume and harmony. But Cameronbridge also surprises as a single grain whisky with its pleasant accessibility and creamy texture.

Although grain whiskies are often overshadowed by the better-known single malts, Cameronbridge has shown the potential of this category in recent years with limited bottlings such as the "Cameronbridge 25 Years Old". Through long maturation in first-class oak casks, these whiskies develop a surprising complexity with nuances of tropical fruit and delicate spice.

Cameronbridge represents an often underestimated side of the Scotch whisky tradition. The distillery proves that grain whisky does not just have to be a base for blends, but has class in its own right - a whisky that impresses with its elegance and versatility.
