Domaine René Bouvier - The finest expression of Burgundian terroir
Domaine René Bouvierin Marsannay is a family-run winery that has been known for generations for its precise and characterful Burgundy wines. Under the direction of the charismatic Bernard Bouvier, the estate has developed into one of the most prestigious addresses on the Côte de Nuits.
Wines of impressive clarity and depth are produced from 12 hectares of vines - including sought-after sites in Gevrey-Chambertin, Fixin and Marsannay. The Marsannay "Longeroies", which is regularly recognised as one of the best wines in the appellation, deserves particular attention.
Bouvier favours minimalist vinification: spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts, long maceration periods and careful ageing in used oak barrels (max. 30% new barriques). His Pinot Noirs are characterised by intense aromas of dark berries, fine spicy notes and a velvety tannin structure.
Viticulture has been increasingly organic since 2010. The wines of the domaine are characterised by their minerality and great ageing potential - true terroir ambassadors of the Côte de Nuits.
With around 50,000 bottles produced each year, Domaine René Bouvier is one of the most interesting addresses for authentic, unadulterated Burgundy wines.
