Balvenie - artisan perfection from the Highlands
The Balvenie Distillery, founded in 1892 by William Grant in Dufftown, Scotland, stands for handcrafted single malt whisky of the highest quality. Balvenie is one of the few distilleries in Scotland that still uses traditional methods such as its own malting, copper pot stills and the use of oak casks built in-house.
Balvenie whiskies are characterised by their complex, warm aromas of honey, vanilla, dried fruit and a subtle oak spiciness. The double maturation (DoubleWood), in which the whisky is first matured in American bourbon casks and then in European sherry casks, deserves special attention. This technique gives the popular Balvenie 12-Year-Old its characteristic depth.
The distillery also offers exceptional bottlings such as the Balvenie 21-Year-Old PortWood, which is finished in port casks, or the rare Tun 1509, a masterful blended series. Each bottle tells of the passion for traditional craftsmanship - from the company's own barley cultivation to the individual selection of casks.
Balvenie combines innovation with the tried and tested like almost no other distillery. The whiskies impress with their smooth yet powerful character and make Balvenie one of the most valued single malt brands in the world. For connoisseurs, every sip is an experience of handcrafted perfection.
