Auchentoshan - The mild single malt from the Lowlands

Auchentoshan is one of the few Scottish whisky distilleries that triple-distils its single malt - an unusual process that gives the whisky its special elegance. Founded in 1823, the distillery is located in the Lowlands, a region known for its light and accessible whiskies. In contrast to the strong, peaty malts of the Highlands or Islays, Auchentoshan impresses with its gentle, often sweet flavour.

Auchentoshan is characterised by its smooth, almost creamy flavour with aromas of almonds, caramel and citrus fruits. The triple distillation process makes the whisky particularly pure and mild without losing any of its complexity. 12-year-old Auchentoshan, one of the best-known bottlings, impresses with nuances of honey, vanilla and a subtle oak spice.

In addition to the classic bottlings, the distillery is also experimenting with different cask maturations, such as the Auchentoshan American Oak, which is aged exclusively in bourbon casks and therefore develops a fresh, coconut-like sweetness. The Auchentoshan Three Wood, matured in sherry, bourbon and port casks, also demonstrates the distillery's versatility.

Auchentoshan is particularly suitable for whisky beginners, as it is less dominant than many other Scottish malts. However, connoisseurs also appreciate its precision craftsmanship and the fine balance between sweetness and structure.

With its unmistakable style, Auchentoshan epitomises the delicate art of Lowland whisky production - a whisky that impresses not with its strength, but with its finesse.
