Whisky Chichibu - Japan's young pearl
Chichibu is a young but already highly respected whisky distillery in Japan. Founded in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto, a pioneer of the Japanese whisky scene, Chichibu has quickly made a name for itself. The distillery is located in the mountainous Saitama region, where the climate with hot summers and cold winters favours the maturation of the whisky.
Chichibu focuses on traditional craftsmanship and innovation. The distillery uses local barley and its own spring water to create a unique flavour. Small stills and the use of different casks - including Mizunara oak, ex-bourbon and sherry casks - create complex, multi-layered whiskies.
Chichibu is known for its fruity, floral and slightly smoky notes, with whiskies such as "Ichiro's Malt" and "Chichibu The First" delighting connoisseurs worldwide. Despite its short history, the distillery has already won numerous awards and proves that even young whiskies can be of the highest quality.
Chichibu represents the future of Japanese whisky: bold, creative and full of dedication. Each bottle tells the story of a small but ambitious distillery that is taking on the big names in the industry.
