Philipponnat - Champagne with royal origins

The Philipponnat Champagne House has been shaping the wine-growing culture of the region since 1522 - making it one of the oldest still active wine estates in Champagne. Based in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, the family-run house can look back on an eventful history: the Domaine's vineyards cover the best parcels of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, including the legendary Clos des Goisses, one of the steepest and sunniest sites in Champagne.

Philipponnat's champagnes are known for their powerful structure and mineral depth. The Clos des Goisses, a pure vintage champagne, is one of the most complex sparkling wines in the world - with flavours of ripe citrus fruits, honey and a salty minerality. The Philipponnat Royale Réserve, an assemblage of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, impresses with its fresh fruit and creamy texture.

The house uses traditional methods: spontaneous fermentation, long ageing on the lees and the measured addition of reserve wines. Philipponnat remains true to its philosophy: Champagne should not only shine, but also reflect the terroir.

A glass of Philipponnat is a flavour experience in a class of its own - powerful, elegant and unforgettable.
