Heidsieck - The royal Champagne dynasty
The history of the Heidsieck champagne house is inextricably linked with three important names: Heidsieck & Co Monopole, Piper-Heidsieck and Charles Heidsieck. Founded in 1785 by Florens-Louis Heidsieck, the company split into these three famous lines in the 19th century. Today, the Heidsieck & Co Monopole brand stands for classic champagne elegance with a special focus on Pinot Noir.
Heidsieck's champagnes are characterised by their powerful structure and aromatic depth. The Heidsieck Monopole Blue Top Brut, an assemblage of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, impresses with its lively freshness and notes of yellow fruit, almond and a subtle spiciness. The prestige cuvée Diamant Bleu, produced only in outstanding vintages, shows impressive complexity with nuances of dried fruit and fine roasted flavours after long bottle ageing.
The historic Heidsieck Monopole Dry Monopole, one of the first "sec" champagnes, which was particularly successful on the English market, deserves special mention. The house favours grapes from first-class crus and traditional vinification methods.
A glass of Heidsieck is like travelling back in time - full of historical significance, but with timeless elegance.
