The Domaine Bertagna winery
Domaine Bertagnais a traditional Burgundian winery based in Vougeot, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. Since its foundation in 1932, the Domaine has built up an excellent reputation for high-quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines. Its wines from prestigious vineyards such as Clos Vougeot, Corton and Chambolle-Musigny, which are among the best in Burgundy, are particularly well known.
The estate cultivates around 12 hectares of vineyards, including several Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites. The soils of these plots are rich in limestone and clay, which gives the wines their characteristic minerality and structure. The grapes are carefully harvested by hand and vinification is carried out with great precision - often with extended maceration and gentle ageing in oak barrels to allow the flavours to develop optimally.
The red wines from Domaine Bertagna are characterised by their elegance, velvety tannins and complex aromas of dark berries, spices and a subtle roasted aroma. The white wines, especially those from the Corton Grand Cru, impress with their freshness, fullness and long-lasting mineral flavours.
