Remy Martin - The soul of cognac at its best

In the world of fine spirits, the name Rémy Martin is synonymous with French elegance, artisanal perfection and an unrivalled tradition of Cognac production. For almost 300 years, this house has epitomised the essence of Grande Champagne, the noblest growing region of Cognac. Rémy Martin is not just a Cognac - it symbolises the art of living, the art of blending and the patience of time. Each bottle tells a story of generations of passionate master distillers, of dedication to the terroir and of the search for the perfect harmony between barrel and fruit.

The roots of a dynasty

The story begins in 1724, when the young winegrower Rémy Martin founded his trading company in the small town of Cognac. Unlike many of his contemporaries, he concentrated from the outset on the best sites in Grande Champagne, whose chalky soils lend the Ugni Blanc grapes a unique minerality. This decision in favour of quality over quantity was to shape the fate of the house. In the 19th century, under Paul-Émile Rémy Martin, the international rise began - Cognac became a favourite of the European aristocracy and later a symbol of French luxury all over the world.

The philosophy of "Fine Champagne"

What sets Rémy Martin apart from other cognac houses is the strict restriction to the two best crus: Grande and Petite Champagne. Only cognacs from these areas are allowed to bear the coveted "Fine Champagne" label, and Rémy Martin has carried this tradition to perfection. The Ugni Blanc grapes are selected according to strict criteria, the wine is distilled in traditional copper alambics and the maturation takes place in hand-picked Limousin oak barrels. But the real secret lies in the art of assemblage - the blending of different vintages and barrels by the head taster (the master blender), a position that has been held with the utmost responsibility for generations.

The masterpieces of alchemy

Rémy Martin's portfolio reflects the entire spectrum of the art of Cognac:

  • VSOP (Very Superior Old Pale): The classic, matured for at least four years, impresses with its balance of fresh fruit notes and delicate vanilla.

  • 1738 Accord Royal: A tribute to the royal privilege of 1738, with six years of maturation and a particularly velvety mouthfeel.

  • XO (Extra Old): A symphony of dried fruits, honey and spices, matured for at least ten years in oak casks.

  • Louis XIII: The crowning glory of the collection - a cognac blended from over 1,200 old eaux-de-vie (up to 100 years old) and presented in handmade Lalique decanters.

The culture of the terroir

Rémy Martin's connection to the land goes far beyond mere production. The house works with over 1,200 winegrowing families and maintains a unique system of sustainability. The "Partager le Bonheur" initiative not only supports the winegrowers, but also preserves the ecological balance of the Champagne regions. This deep rootedness in the terroir gives every drop of Rémy Martin its unmistakable character - a blend of mineral elegance and sensual fullness.

Remy Martin stands for the highest art of cognac - the Louis XIII in particular is a liquid fortune. The brand combines 300 years of expertise with contemporary luxury.
