Veuve Clicquot - The courage of a woman characterises Champagne

With its characteristic sunny yellow colour, Veuve Clicquot is not only one of the most famous champagne houses in the world, but also a symbol of female entrepreneurial strength. In 1805, 27-year-old Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin took over the estate as a widow ("Veuve") and revolutionised the world of champagne. Her pioneering invention of the remuage made it possible to produce clear champagne in large quantities for the first time - a technique that is still used today.

The house from Reims is particularly famous for its powerful, Pinot Noir-dominated champagnes. The Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label, an assemblage of 50-60 different wines, is characterised by its intense structure with aromas of ripe apples, nuts and a subtle spiciness. The prestige cuvée La Grande Dame, named after the founder, shows all the complexity of the best Grand Cru sites in its vintage version.

The Veuve Clicquot Rosé, whose characteristic berry fruit is the result of the rare mash fermentation, deserves special mention. The estate is also committed to sustainability - the historic vineyards in Bouzy have been cultivated entirely organically since 2012.

A glass of Veuve Clicquot is like a tribute to the pioneering spirit - powerful, life-affirming and full of elegance.
