The 1985 Cabernet Sauvignon-Reserve is Durney's finest Cabernet since the great 1978. It clearly exhibits what heights this winery can achieve in an area not known for this varietal. Nearly black in color, this massive wine is still youthful and in need of cellaring. The earthy, cassis nose opens with airing. Exceptionally rich, full-bodied, and multidimensional, this tightly knit wine will last for another 20 or more years. (4/1993)
